Title: Bit of a scare
Post by: dnovo on February 01, 2020, 11:06:38 PM
About a week and a half ago I grabbed a piece of plywood at work to lift up to roof and had a terrible pain in my left shoulder. I couldn’t lift my arm over my shoulder for 2 days. It gradually improved but any sudden movement caused a shooting pain. Finally got it to see my orthopedic doctor Friday and xrays and exam indicate no rotator cuff damage. Good news. I was afraid of surgery. He gave me a cortisone shot and exercises to do. I was able to shoot today for first time in several weeks. I think I’m going to be able to hunt.

That's great news! And very encouraging for me. I started off with some weakness in my string-side bicep & it got worse over the next 2 days. Now I can't lift my right arm up more than about 30°. I went to urgent care yesterday & am scheduled for an MRI on Wednesday. For now, I'm not supposed to use my right arm at all. I'm hoping for the same results as you. Otherwise I might be completely screwed... :banghead:

I'm glad it hasn't turned out to be too serious. I had one shoulder operated on and am thinking the other one needs it. Injuries sure can put a damper on things, so be sure to follow this up carefully and follow closely any treatment regimen given to you. Good luck!
