My first forged knife
4runr:
I’m very pleased with the way this turned out for my first try. It was forged from a rotary jack hammer bit. I have access to a number of them as well as small tractor transmission shafts. I don’t know the exact steel it’s made from, but with some digging and luck, the tempering seemed to work out very well, as the blade is very hard and holds a good edge. I know some of you master smiths cringe at my crude way of knife building, but it’s for my own use and recreation. :biglaugh:
I’m sure you regulars can tell where my inspiration comes from.
Thanks.
