Lost another platoon mate

Lost one of my platoon mates from Viet Nam . That’s two in just a few months. I know we are aging and it’s inevitable but just not really prepared in my mind. Both were regulars at the reunions. Going miss them .

Its always sad to hear when an old vet passes.  We've just about lost all of the World War 2 vets (relative to the number that served), and Korean War guys aren't far behind.  I always want to stop and shake hands with the old vets, even foreign ones if I see one, but I'm not the type to just walk up to strangers.  I'll always appreciate what the average service members did before and after me, just serving and following orders.
