south Africa trip
« on: September 28, 2013, 01:50:00 PM »
I'm looking for some advice for a south africa trip we are planning for next year.
Trying to figure out when to go with the different seasons. what would it be like to go in October?
I own a air taxi business here in Alaska and I am tied up with Hunters until the end of september.
Thanks
Jeff

although the normal meat hunting season is over by Oct and you might have warm weather I think it is a good time to hunt from a blind as their would be very little water in the veld and most animals would rely on water and feeding at hides.

I was in a hide in the Limpopo area Sept 18th this year, and dripping with wet and the animals were showing up in herds for water and what little feed there was.  I guess it can get warmer in Oct which is a benefit to hunting from the hides. My guess is we got up into the mid to high 80's F.

Jeff,

I was in so Africa back in 2012 in November ... It is summer and the weather is really nice and warm ..... In the 80s to 90s during the day.. So lots of activity at pit blinds overlooking waterholes. Nights are in the 70 to 75 range.

I would recommend u read my post here on this thread...Hunting with Hunt the Sun.....
My wife and I had a great experience at the Imbasa Lodge where we stayed for 10 days. (See my pics and post)
The trophy quality and PH and trackers are the best.

If u need any more info u can email me at.   [email protected]...
Yours In BowHunting,

Bob

sure makes tracking a lot easier, and it helps to get the animals moving
