So, it ended up to be a pretty good weekend.
Saturday, I moved a bunch of arrows into the next step in the process. Also, I made a few pretty cool riser sanding jigs so that I can quickly turn out matched risers for the style of bow that I am currently working on. I think they are going to work pretty well. I've got a big shipment of stuff coming from ifloor, woodworker's source, and Binghams this week, so I hope to get some bows glued up very soon.
Sunday, I went to the Poolesville shoot and shot the "hunter's course". Paul, Wayne, and I embarassed ourselves missing aerial target after aerial target in front of a handful of spectators. Wayne, Paul, and Bill gave me an education about Carbon and Aluminum arrows (thanks guys). After seeing how these guys shoot, you can't argue with them. I am thinking about trying some aluminums out (from what Wayne says carbons may be a little too effortful to tune).
After the shoot, my wife, 3-year-old, 2-month-old, and I went on a shed hunt on the IWLA farm. Didn't find any, but there is nothing like a walk in the woods with your wife and daughters.
When we got home, 3-year-old Cassidy shot two quivers full of arrows - mostly flight shooting (she's not into targets yet). She was sending those arrows a good 25 to 30 yards - she was pumped. When we were done she said to my wife "Mommy mommy, I'm just like Fred Bear" and most importantly she asked if we can shoot again tomorrow.
Yep, it was a great weekend - thanks to all who participated.
Sorry, I didn't make it to Pipe Creek Dave. With the time change, 7:30 was just too early of a Tee time for me.
