Was thinking of checking my land soon. Truck issues have kept me from getting up there but maybe this weekend.

I've seen a load of beechnuts. A lot of red oaks are loaded also. We had a great mast crop last year in the lower Hudson Valley. From the limited time I've been in the woods lately mast production looks pretty good this year too. Tony Z

I checked the Klondike Forest here in CNY and didn't see beechnuts yet.  I did see a very few acorns on some red oaks.  There was a ton of acorns last year, more than I have ever seen.  Very few beechnuts last year.  Hopefully a better mast this year.  I have to check out a small stand of white oaks I found up here.

There seems to be quite a few beech nuts here this year, and apples on every tree.

I have some in Rensselaer county. More acorn, apples and thankfully corn. Lot of bear sign this year, they're eating on the corn.

I don't know about the beechnuts however I do know there is a good crop of apples as well as acorns in  the area where I hunt in the southern Adirondacks.  I think the dry weather is causing the acorns to drop a little early.
