2012 archery season
« on: August 23, 2012, 01:21:00 PM »
It's almost upon us!

My mind is on overload...two years ago today I had a heart attack...Friday is my 33rd wedding anniversary...Saturday is opening of archery season...Sunday is two years since open heart surgery.

Hope all you Oregon hunters have a safe and successful hunt!

Good luck, shoot straight, and have fun!

Glad you are back in the saddle....

I went last week and over weekend...had two groups in front of my ground blind....first two were a 2nd year doe with her 1st year buck yearling...he was a spike and smaller than her so let them walk at 10 yards.

Second group was huge gray doe with two doe and one button buck...also from about 8-15 feet away and let them walk as does are not shootable until next month and bucks need 2 inches of horn.

First spike had about 4 inches per side but he was a little fella and would rather have his momma lure in a big bow in couple months.  :)

Good luck
Keep em sharp,

Got Out on opening day with my six yr old son.  Didnt see any but it was still a lot of fun.  And we went camping/hunting this last weekend up gooscreek road. He was stoked to see tracks so it was worthwhile.  Being a single dad doesnt leave alot of time to go without my little hunting partner.  So I dont expect we will get one but hopefully he can see one.

That's what it's all about BW#44.

Glad to hear you're doing well Ron. Getting up in the mountains always does us good!

I played "cat and mouse" with some bulls this year. Didn't get an ethical shoot opportunity though. Looking forward to the late season now. Hoping for lots of snow.
