Swakane-Burch as we knew them...
« on: July 13, 2010, 12:04:00 AM »
While on the bank of the Columbia at 4:30 Sunday morning, I watched as the hills of Swakane went up in smoke. It was my hopes it would stop before it hit the timber at Burch mt..(the last hold out for our winter mulies).Tonight I could see the Swakane side of Burch was in flames. The heavy white smoke was rising out of the timber.I'ts my hopes they can save what's left of it as the evening winds die down.Keep this in your prayers tonight.GR

I was watching the news tonight and saw film and reports of that fire north of Wenatchee, and thought it looked bad.

Whether it's rough winters, predators, clear cutting, expansion of homes, or fires, it seems our mule deer are always fighting for survival.
