Cool!  That may help to jump start her interest in the traditional bow.

I know this is a shot in the dark but: At the STAR shoot someone had a couple of 58" bows on the 4sale rack. One was Bear and I THINK the other was a Browning Hunter (perhaps a Ben Pearson Maverick) anyone know who had those for sale? I looked at them before shooting the course and by the time I got off the course all were gone.

I believe they were Jim Clippard's bows.

Allen,  I just looked at the final scores and I gotta ask:  Did you have a wire tied from your bow to the 10 rings? 276!?    :notworthy:

Wow! Great shooting!

Brad, it kind of felt like it that day!!  LOL

It sure felt like all the STARS were in line that day.

Thanks,

Allen

Not sure why I havent looked earlier, but after a little over a year, I came across the VA forum. Just wanted to say howdy.

Got a few questions. First, anyone close by Cana? Second, is STAR scheduled for 2010 yet? Third, does everyone in this state have a BBQ smoker in their yard? Finally, does anyone know if there is an organization like BBQ Annonymos and a good Weight Watchers support group.

Cremation Association of North America?
No smoker. No back yard. No suspenders.
Sorry.

Killie,

I am a direct descendant of a line of priests. Every time I cook, I supply the family with burnt offerings.

Good to hear from you. How you been?

I'm workin' six days a week, but workin' is a good thing, considering. Haven't even bought Christmas cards yet, savoring that slow (dis)stress.

Still want a Sheepeater, dark woods and low contrast. An honest-to-God Brent Rudolph Sheepeater Spirit. Spirit perked her ears up, said she was the only REAL sheep eater Spirit on the planet. I am starting to find her somewhat less than credible.

Hope all is well down Bristow way, your family healthy and happy. I used to pass through there a few times a week, when I was a driver for a Beltway Bandit.

Welcome to VA Brent.

Second, STAR in Roanoke is scheduled for Saturday/Sunday June 5 and June 6 in 2010.  Come on down, set up a booth and fling a few arrows with us.  Convince Killdeer to come along as well and we'll all share a campfire.  Third, we don't all have smokers in the yard but we can usually be found at the neighbor's somewhere near their smoker.  Finally, the STAR shoot is full of people that will serve you BBQ without asking your name and we routinely watch each other gain weight.  And first, isn't Cana down below Fancy Gap?  I thought you were headed to the Winchester area?  I'm sure we've got somebody down that way......

Well kids, I will have to come up! I'd be in Cana these days. I work in Galax. Cana just suited me better since the wife works in Mt Airy, NC. I will be UP to Star this year. I best get on Killie getting her guilted into being there.

And yes Forester, first-Cana it is, andit is below Fancy Gap. I live right in tween the two. Horrible come 5:00 rush hour. Mrs. Johnson is always out that time of day. Now, what was it you were saying about BBQ?

Killie, is Spirit going to share if another little Sheepeater comes callin?

Spirit will just have to sulk and watch me play with it!   :D

Oh, and your "horrible rush hour" had me in stitches! (Just got off the Beltway.)

Twernt that funny Killie. You obviously have never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Johnson, nor driving on the same side of her state. They roll up the sidewalks everywhere else to close the stores. Here, they do it just trying to keep her off of them.

Is she related to the old guy in the Fedora who drives 25 in the 45 zone, his left turn signal on, peering between the dashboard and the top of the steering wheel? That dude gets around, man!
