Anyone up for a squirrel hunt this year???
« on: December 14, 2008, 03:49:00 PM »
Any suggestions for a place-we can go where we went last year near Richmond or where??
Open for suggestions-as long as there ARE some squirrels. Lets hear from you.

I had thought about offering my place.  Saturday I saw probably a hundred squirrels.  I have big red ones too.  I have access to 110 acres and could ask my neighbor if we could bunny hunt his 180 acres.  But I'm quite a haul for most guys.  Of course it would be no problem for the western VA crews.

Thanks Chuck-lets see if others chime in-most are still concentrating on deer. Will keep this up for awhile and see what people think.

If there is interest, we could do one here. Plenty of squirrels and over 100 wooded acres with another 100 acres of fields with some hedges and thickets for rabbits. May even be an escaped chicken or two running around. LOL

Central location so maybe all can manage to get there would be good. Chris's place has a bunch this year but somewhat overwhelming size.
Ron has a real nice place in Amelia also. We have hunted some of the WMA with no results so it might be good to actually kill some of the little rodents!! Thanks Ron and Chuck for the offers.
You know me- I'll get there anyway.

Set a date Ron and they will come, lol. Know you work alternate weekends so it is up to you on timing.
No promises on game but Ron has a real fine looking area. Getting together is the point isn't it?

Either is good with me but the 24th suits better, gives some time to make up some jerky.
Thanks Ron-looking forward to seeing you again.

The 24th works better for me too.  Give's me a little break from the end of deer season and holiday recovery. LOL

Just looked up Jetersville.  That's about 2 hours from King George,  I may try and make it.  Never done this before.  How do I get some cheap arrows?  Lots of them :)P
