Augusta Archers Trad shoot
« on: May 06, 2008, 09:07:00 PM »
Hope this is not premature but heard tonight that there will be a 2nd annual trad shoot  at Augusta Archers in Staunton, Va.
Last year a handful of shooters showed up but considering the weather I believe that a good time was had by all. There is a camping area and Dennis did a fine job on setting the 3d ranges.
Know gas prices are high but maybe carpools can work for some. Would like to meet and greet some of you before the main events at STAR and ATAR shoots.
Dennis, didn't want to step on toes but Pat asked if anything was mentioned here so I started it.

There is an area for camping, Adam. Last year there weren't many shooters so am trying to get more people to shoot , nice club and if people don't show its kind of difficult to expect clubs to sponsor trad only shoots.
Would like to see you there.

Looks like I am off that weekend.  What are the start times, rules and camping details? Sounds like fun.

Ron,
Registration is usually 8 am-1 pm around here, camping will be first come but is available. There will be food available during the day from the clubhouse.
If you and Adam decide to make the trip I may have to stay over Sat. evening!
Rules are??? no broadheads is all I know for the course-no wheels of course also.

Coming from Richmond: head west to 81 north, quick first exit- off 64- (Rt. 250 east). Believe at the third light-look for ASPCA sign-make a right, go under train tressel and look for road on the right, will have ASPCA and archery sign. Road splits, stay left and follow uphill to end.

Chris,
Probably the quickest way is 64w-81n.Scenic way would be 29s-33w-81s. The important thing is the Rt 250 east out of Staunton part.
Will have my cell with me so I should be able to guide anyone in:(540)-421-4497.

Chris,
Just about 4 posts up you will see directions from Richmond area, will be fastest for you. Other alternative is 29S to 33W to 81S to the 250E exit at Staunton.
 Hope to see you there.
