Rendezvous Camping Questions
« on: August 29, 2009, 09:42:00 PM »
I just had a few questions about camping at next week's rendezvous.  I've never been, but am looking forward to it.

1) What is the cost per night?
2) Are there fire rings?
3) Can your vehicle remain at your campsite?

Also, what is the name of the park where the rendezvous will be taking place?

Thanks, all!

#1 Don't think there is any cost at least there wasn't last year.
#2 Didn't see any rings but we all had campfires.
#3 Yes.
 The park is Hormel park.

The shoot and vendors will be in Hormel Park, but the camping is (or at least has been) across the street at Camp Christian.  You can't miss either if you are Ridgeland Road, a half-mile west of Hwy. 77.  Turn at the Wooden Windmill on south edge of town.

By the way, if the campground area looks a little crowded for you, the Fremont State Lakes SRA is about three miles NW, although it may be pretty busy too with it being Labor Day.  If you're looking for more modern facilities, that's the place to look at.  Fremont also has several motels, although they are mostly on the north and northeast sides of town.
