Arkansas State
September 1-2, 2012
Mayflower Archery Range
Take Exit 135 (Mayflower) off of Interstate 40 onto Arkansas Highway 89. Go East on 89 for approximately 4 miles, turn left onto Clinton road go approximately 2 miles to shoot location. Signs along 89 indicate distance to Public Archery range.
One Round of forty life-size 3D targets
Longbows and self-bows with wooden arrows, Field Points only
No Sights, Stabilizers, Release Aids, Or String Walking
Acceptable longbows must meet the guidelines of
The Arkansas Longbow Association
Buckles and Pins
1st, 2nd 3rd Ladies, Seniors and Youth
Top ten - Open, Top-five - Self-bow
$10 individual, $ 20 family
9:00AM (Registration closes at 8:30am)
Shotgun Start
The Arkansas Longbow Association
is an organization designed to preserve
the tradition and heritage of the
American Longbow
Acceptable Longbow Guidelines
String cannot touch the limbs after leaving the nock
No massive handles or weighted risers
No center shot bows
Self-Bow Guidelines
Self-Bows shall be of a solid wood core. Any backing to be no more than 1/4 of limb thickness.
An evaluation committee shall make final decisions regarding acceptable equipment
There will be a non-competitive class for equipment that does not meet the guidelines
There will be a blanket shoot Sunday, entry $10
We plan on having a good time
