2008 WTA Banquet - UPDATED W/SCHEDULE!
« on: November 25, 2007, 04:55:00 AM »
When and where is the 08 WTA Banquet going to be held?  Same hotel as last year or no?  Which one this time if it's different?
Gotta check my PBS schedule, etc. to try to make it up again  this year...
Thanks for any info in advance.

Kevin, The banquet will be March 15th (we made sure to avoid the PBS dates) It is in WI Dells again, but this time at the Chula Vista Resort.  Much nicer facility, with a first class waterpark for the kids.  It will be a bit more expensive, but it was felt it would be well worth it - better food (and more of it!), nicer rooms, and fun for the whole family.

The next issue of the Stumpshooter should be coming out shortly and will have all of the details.  See you there!

And the seminars:

Ed Brandsey:
Ed Brandsey, owner of Brandsey’s Custom Knives, has agreed to present a seminar on the art of Knife Making.  Brandsey, from Janesville, Wisconsin is an award-winning knifemaker and has been a member of the Knifemaker’s Guild for over two decades.

From common blades to some of the most unique designs, all of Brandsey’s knives are one-of-a-kind masterpieces.  Come to this seminar to see why Brandsey’s knives have been featured in magazines and have sold around the globe.

Mike Mitten:
Mike Mitten is a 48 year old cancer researcher from Beach Park, Il. He is married with 5 children, and a regular contributor to Traditional Bowhunter, North American Whitetail, and many other magazines. Mike is a member of Pope & Young, P.B.S. and Comptons.
Mike will be giving a partial seminar on wildlife filming , as he is involved with Primal Dreams. He will also be talking about do it yourself hunts, and what it takes to put one together, including equipment, body, and mind preparation.

David Petersen:
Our Keynote speaker will be David Petersen of Durango, CO. David has authored many engaging hunting books (Heartsblood, Elkheart, and his latest A Man Made of Elk), wrote for Bugle magazine, and is currently a regular contributor to Traditional Bowhunter magazine. David's writings take you to his inner soul and are as captivating a read as you'll find in the outdoor category. His morning seminar will deal with breaking down an elk into manageable and pack able pieces when by yourself. His evening dinner talk will focus on low impact elk hunting David Petersen style.

Well, I had deep fried pickles in God's Country with Greg and Karen Szalewski, I guess I might as well try a chocolate mouse at the banquet...
