Ryan, if she was getting 183 with 500 grains she should get about 190 or 192 with 450, try her with 540 grains she should get about 176 I think. I figure about 1.5 fps for every 10 grains. I have a 58# red oak bow I want to chrono when my hand gets better, I was pulling it to 25" today and getting 174, This sunday I will get a witnessed and verified shooting with my group, we verify the draw weight of the bow, the weight of the arrow and have some skeptical eyes watch the shots carefully with a marked arrow, I may not pull it past 26 1/2" as I want to save this one for the flight shoots.

Thanks Matt.
Badger, why would you want to go into war with a unproven weapon? shouldnt you at least make sure it will bend to 28" before the day of the shoot? I know why your doing it, to save unnessasary stress on the bow but do you normaly do this? I would think it to be better to have a bow thats proven.

Ryan, if I drive 700 miles for a shoot I want some pucker factor in there to increase my intensity. The bow has been draw to 28 probably 10 times on a pulley, not held but just touched, I honestly cant even hit 28 with it right now hand drawing. Loaded up with little work injuries. Hopefully be healed up by this sunday. Knowing me I will likely pull the bow to 28 and then pull it to 29 and then pull it till it breaks and then sit down and cry for awhile about the bow that could have been LOL< Steve

oh, ok I thought you would want to at least bend it that far a couple times to make sure it would hold up.
