Sky Archery shout out
« on: July 01, 2014, 08:42:00 PM »
Just a shout out to Jim Belcher his wife and Sky Archery.   I bought a set of limbs and a Ilf riser.  I quickly stripped the screws that hold the handle grip and then discovered my limbs (which are wonderful) were a little heavy for my old bones, again my fault.  Long story short Jim was kind enough to reduce the weight and tap the riser no charge. Just saying if your looking for a new bow take a look at Sky.

I am dealing with them for the first time and they have been extremely helpful and communicative.  I am pleased they have accepted my order...
Cheers

Alex321 are you getting your takedown longbow from Jim.  I got a grumley deerslayer from Jim at Denton hill years ago  it was his bow got it home and the limbs collapsed  call Jim up and he made me a new one. Great bow  and great guy.  Just don't talk politics with Jim he chew your ear off.

Hi Dan,

Yes, I am getting a take down Union Jack...  It will be  bamboo with a wedge shaped handle.  Apart from that, I have left the rest up to him...

Now the wait  :(   :)

Mr. Maxwell,
The bowyer was probably not the same guy, maybe it was,I am not sure. I have an early Sky T.D. with Medalist limbs. 66" long and 28# @28". A true "sliver slinger". When you release 1813's off of it it will hang with the best of them.

We went to the Greencastle shoot and they had this buffalo 100 yds away with the orange dot painted on it. The Sky put that red fletch to the left of it, with many going over it. The "Sky guys" build quite a bow!!!!!!

                                              Good Shooting,
                                                             Craig

I shot the 3D course with Jim at the MLA Spring shoot this year. I had never met him, was introduced through a mutual friend. I thoroughly enjoyed shooting with him. He know more about bow design, tuning, etc than most. Great guy.
