Has anybody tried these carbons yet, and what is your opinion of them?  I'm going to buy 2 or 3 and try them out, but was wondering if naybody else has.

Let me know opinions.

I just bought a dozen of the Beman Classics. I really like them. They are wood grain version of the Max 4. They fly like darts out of my 50# Black Widow.

I just made up some classics as well. I bought 400's and got good flight when I left them at 31" and put 225 gr up front. I am shooting them out of my 48# Ancient Spirits recurve. They are right at 575 gr. Very tough too!

Lee, I like the Max4's, a little heavier than the other "thin" carbons. Out of my 58#@27" supershrew they flew fantastic: with cap/dip/crest, 29" shaft, 200gr head and standard HIT insert, total shaft weight was around 535gr. Very tough shafts. I did break one, but I think that would have broken any shaft. And they penetrate like an icepick.

Wow, you guys were right.  I jsut had Lancaster Archery make up some arrows ofr me, and they are awesome!  These are the only carbons I have been able to get to work with my Schafer Silvertip.  They fly great off my longbow, too.  Thanks for the info.

Lee

In the 55 years I have had a bow in my hands I think that they are the best hunting shafts on the planet.
