The thermacell is an excellent device as mentioned but it is less effective in windy conditions.

Remember we don't have to wait until hunting season to use them. Works while fishing also.

I don't know how we ever made it without them. I'm sure I might not have survived without mine in South Carolina turkey huntin this year.

I was just browsing not sure if anyone has posted but you can get a hip holster for the TC and hang it from a hook in your stand works awesome!

I was out fishing the other night on a pier that had a bench on it. My wife was sitting in the pontoon boat about 20 ft away. I had no mosquitoes. My wife used deets spray. She still was bothered. Works for me.

Borrowed my fathers Therma cell last weekend. WOW! No gimmicks here, this thing is the real deal. I could see mosquitos all around but none bit me. I am surely buying one for the early fall hunting season.

I agree with stickhead!  I attract skeeters and the cell blocks em.

I keep reading all these posts about how good they are but my experiance has been a quite different. I bought one and a friend of mine bought one, from diffrent places. Mine would work but it took between 50-100 time of pushing the ignitor to light the thing. And of course after doing this several times it just locked up and would not spark any more. My buddys never would light.I just read in a post here that someone had problems at altiude. So maybe thats what was wrong with ours, we live in Colorado.Guess I'll have to stay with the spray (deet).

They are well worth it.  Bear season is way more enjoyable now.

I am glad I still have mine! I am still using it when the bugs are out. I was surprised to see that this thread was still getting hits.

Used it yesterday opening day bow season in NJ...78 and damp...skeeters EVRYWHERE except in our treestand.  Out with my 12 yr old on his first bowhunt. He complained after we were in stand about 20 mins and little buggers were getting oppressive.  Flicked on Tcell and literally no bugs within about 3mins.  Left on whole time, no more issues....

ONLY issue I can think of is the click sound when you fire it up is loud in the still woods. Usually it's up and running with in 5 hits...I now try and keep it either stuffed in coat or pack or something until it ignites.  Helps muffle the sound somewhat.

Good luck to all...It works.
