New (to me) Longbow
« on: June 06, 2006, 12:29:00 AM »
Shot a Turkey Creek longbow this past weekend--very nice bows.

The grip reminded me of a Benchmark--not the grip I prefer, but it was easy to get consistent hand placement.  The leather grip had very nice stitching.  I shot a 62", and even at my 30+" draw I didn't notice any stack.

The bow I shot was less than 50@28, and the arrows were around 600 grains--and it was still very fast.  Handshock was very low as well, but the heavy arrows may have helped.

A tad noisy, even with the heavy arrows, but I didn't do any tuning and there was very little silencer material on the tiny TS-1 string.  A bit finicky, but it was a 62"--I think a 64" or 66" would have been more forgiving, especially at my draw length.  The over-all appearance of these bows was very nice, and the bowyer was very pleasant to talk to.

Over-all, definately worth looking at if you are in the market for a longbow, and no, I'm not a dealer for them (not yet anyway).

Yes It seems to be very good, 62" long with a draw length over 30"...
