Ron La Clair wool Longhunter Shirt
« on: December 10, 2005, 11:13:00 PM »
My wife ordered me one of La Clair's Longhunter shirts several weeks ago as an early Christmas gift. I have to say that it's a really nice shirt. I got the heavy weight one, and it's really warm. The extra long length is very handy when the wind is whipping around 30MPH and the temp is in the teens!! The color is right on too. I had a doe 10 yards while wearing it, and if I'd not moved, she'd never known I was there! I like it so good, I plan to get the medium weight one later. The shipping was very fast also!
Thanks Ron for a great product!

I will second that! I actually have the medium weight LongHunter Shirt from Ron. And I was out the past few days for the late season. Temps in the high 20's low 30's (below freezing). And I was as snug as a bug in a rug! One of the best buys I made all year!
Someday you and I will take the Great Hart by our own skill alone, and with an arrow. And then the Little Gods of the Woods will chuckle and rub their hands and say, "Look, Brothers. An Archer! The Old Times are not altogether gone!"

No, I didn't get the hood, but after seeing one, I wish I had.

I just got the heavyweight shirt.

I wear a 42-44 and I bought the large.  I am 5'7" 180Lb's.

The shirt fits comfortably with just a turtleneck shirt underneath.  I have not tried anything else.

The sleeves come fairly long, I cuffed mine about 4 inch's.

The shirt hangs down to my knees.  On me it looks like a Frock that Friar Tuck might have worn haha.

The color is great, the quality of the wool is pretty good.

The value is VERY high.

I'm not sure why, but the fact that Teresa Asbell (G Fred's wife) made it, makes it even better.

I can't wait to hunt in it this fall.

Highly recommended.

I checked this guys website and it doesn't list any wool shirts?  Is there a way to look at the shirts before I buy one...how much does it cost, and did I look at the wrong website?

I am about the same size as Marblesonac and i concur with him.  I've been wanting a shirt just like this for years and am glad I got it.
newhunter1,
click on the pict of ron in his shirt on his site.  That's how I got to it.
