Used/Inexpensive Recurves
« on: April 11, 2004, 09:54:00 AM »
Looking to buy my nephew's (2) some starter recurves.  I made them some bows a couple of years back and they have outgrown them.  Don't have the time to make bows anymore so I am looking for two inexpensive recurves.  Any suggestions on brands for which I should look.  Want them to be in the 40#@28inches so the boys can grow into them.  I have been looking for Bear Grizzly's but was wondering if there are others worth seeking.

Thanks in advance

You bet! ebay's full of 'em. Check for Shakespeare, Pearson, Wing, Martin, Howatt, and Browning for starters. Should be able to pick up a couple of nice lightweights for $50-$100 ea. Sometimes a lot less. Don't overlook the older fiberglass bows from Pearson and Bear, etc. For around $20 you can get some great starter bows. good luck!
