Barrel-tapered hardwood arrow shafts
« on: September 19, 2018, 02:05:59 PM »
The Superceder arrow shaft business closed down in 1997. I have around 50 dozen matched sets in various sizes and lengths left that have been in dry storage since the company went out of business. I also have several hundred shafts that have not been matched that I hope to work up into matched sets over the next few months. I hand spine them on a classic Adams spine tester and match into 5# spine groups with plus/minus 10 grain weights. My current inventory of sizes is as follows. Tip sizes are 11/32" each end, unless noted to be 5/16":

35-40#/29, parallel 5/16 shafts

70-75#/33"
70-75#/33" 5/16 tips

70-75#/31"

95-100#/29"
90-95#/29"

I'm asking $35/doz plus $8.75/doz shipping and handling, which is cheaper than we sold them for in 1997! Please message me if you have questions. Thank you!

No, they're made from yellow poplar, which is not actually a poplar. It's in the Magnolia group. Strength to weight ratio is similar to POC, but it's twice as tough.
