Looking for Bowfishing Opportunity near Sanibel
« on: July 13, 2018, 12:06:29 PM »
So I'm headed to Sanibel island for vacation after labor day and want to do some bowfishing. Can anyone suggest a good captain/outfitter I could use.

Any references would be GREATLY appreciated.

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow’s effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

Sanibel /Captiva is the best fishing in the state.   :goldtooth:

Are you staying on the island?

That sounds awesome.

I don't have any personal experience to help,  but google a full service marina/ bait shop, in the area you want go.   They will probably be able to point you too someone.

A quick search only showed one charter that provided bowfishing equipment.

If you can bring your own bow, it will not be hard to find a captain, or rent a boat.

if nothing else, he can give you a good outlook on local conditions.

Good luck on your trip.

and remember to post pictures.

I remember seeing Tilapia in most every fresh water lake back when I lived in that area in the 1980s. I fished salt water 99% of the time.. Check the regulations/laws, if your looking for fish to eat salt water mullet might be a good choice too.
