Eugene area shooters
« on: May 14, 2012, 03:32:00 PM »
Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone in the Eugene area every gets together and does any stump shooting? I've been shooting a compounding for along time, just recently switch to a recurve and in the process switched from shooting right handed to left. I really got the bug and just looking for some helpful insight.
Thanks
Shawn

You have a good bunch of guys in Eugene. Go to one of the TAB mtgs that Ron puts on here. Also don't miss the pope and young shoot in Brownsville in July.

Thanks okie, I've been thinking about going to the TAB meetings, just didn't know to much about them. Kinda didn't want to intrude. And I sure miss chasen elk there in Utah, still try making it out there every couple of years.
Thanks
Shawn

Shawn, you should definitely come.  The meetings tend to be a bit informal, and every one is very friendly.  Next month David Lawson is giving a demo on feather splicing for making your own arrows.  If you have not seen his arrows, they are fantastic.  He gave me a couple that he wasn't happy with the way they turned out, and they are the best arrows I have!  There is a big bag target in the back room,so we often can shoot a little bit, and there is a prize raffle every month.  If you want to learn, that is the place.  There is a lot of archery knowledge at those meetings.

Ron said it. Lots of knowledge and cool guys at the tab meetings. You might have to attend alot to get much because everyone is goofing around most of the time. I miss it. Be careful if you come a few times they'll hit you up for the $5 lifetime membership.  :)
I went there the first time with a bow I had literally made from a board and half a dozen arrows from W. 11th archery. Now not too many years later I have archery stuff all over so be careful.
I'm new to Utah so this'll be my first season to see what it's all about. If you want me to check on any of your old spots let me know : )

Look forward to meeting you Shawn. I've done a lot of swimming up Fall Creek over the years. Pretty part of the valley. See any turkeys up your way? Oh boy, we'll have a lot to talk about....haha

We miss having you around Okie. Look forward to spending some time with you and Reo in Idaho.    :campfire:

Snag looking forward to meeting you. Yes lots of turkeys up around my place but none on my place. I do have lots of room to shoot. One of these days the turkeys will make a mistake and think its safe ha ha.
