I'll help Tod with the Friday evening meal.  I'll make some Mac & Cheese in the Smoker.

Thanks for the meal volunteers.  I think we can use some help yet for both of the  evening meals.  Chad

Hey Tod, what are you thinking of cooking on Friday evening?    I'll have the Mac & Cheese, could also bring veggies for a Salad as well.

Well things will be a bit different for the little family this year. A couple weeks ago my father in law had a heart attack, he is doing well but recovering. What does this have to do with MTAR? My wifes family always has a family reunion camping trip the same week as MTAR, typically we've duck out early or late and gone to all of MTAR. this year we'll be staying a the camp the whole time to help out my father in law. Me and the boys are still planning on getting to MTAR but it won't be until Saturday afternoon. Katie will be going back with her parents to help unload and stuff.

Long story short: Me and the boys will be there for Saturday afternoon meal and Sunday morning.

Just don't start the slingshot tourney without me! And someone else will have to run the morning coffee.

Snort, I will do the meat.  I'm not sure what it will be yet.
Gopher, I will bring along a forked stick if you can bring me some bands.

Sorry to hear that, Dan.

I have some mesquite wood for cooking if anybody wants to use it.

It's right around the corner.  Looking forward to it.

I wish I could be there. It's killing me not to.
Last year at this time I was moving and bringing an end to a nightmare. That took four months.
Then, this March my shoulder went to hell. Three months I only had one arm and finally got surgery on 2 May.
I'm still only at about 30% strength in my right arm, but at least I am no longer in pain and have full mobility and range of motion. It hasn't been easy.
Not being able to shoot my bow is the deciding factor on coming.
I was really getting zoned-in with my sling shot so a couple of you top-tier sling shot shooters can consider yourself lucky this year.
But - I'll be on board next year.
Please post some pictures and maybe even a few short videos on Instagram!!
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Sorry to hear about your Father-in-law Dan. Glad to hear he is doing well.
Do we need to find a large coffee brewing machine since Dan and Julie (aka Katie) won't be there on Friday.

Well, I'm sad to say that the logistics of making this years MTAR are not looking good for the little family. Other than the very first year, this will be the only other one that I've missed and I don't like the prospect of it. I'm pretty bummed, but the reasons are well worth it. The boys and I have been trying to do some flintknapping too, so we were looking forward to turning big rocks into little rocks, not to mention defending my slingshot title! I'll send the slingshot trophy up to chads next week. Take lots of pictures guys!

Bummer Dan.  It will be different not having you.  Shane was over yesterday and said "you should take out this spruce tree."  I said, " I can't that is where Dan sits under it and works on his  Bows".  You guys will be missed.  Chad

If I've missed anyone on the roll call, it is not intentional and doesn't mean your not welcome.  I may have forgot someone or just haven't talk to them yet.  My apologies.  Chad

Chad, I'll ask once again. Since Dan and family will not be making it do we need to track down a large coffee maker for the mornings.  If so I can ask around for one I can borrow.

P.S. if you missed it, Mike from Rochester will be coming with his guitar.  Add him to the list so people can plan on how much food to bring.

Are there really two people named Deed coming to the gathering?
