Well I found out about Olly through a good friend of mine.  He is a retired man that has been building his own bows since a young age. Not commercially but for his self, it is a hobby of his now that he is retired.  Now he builds bows for other people not wanting to get so big that it becomes a job.  Anyways I called him today and he said he would build me a recurve.  He builds one peice recurves, long bows, and a hybrid.  Now Mr. Ollys mentality is that he builds a "hunting" bow, not offering all these exotic woods and overlays.  He said he builds his bows strong and dependable and would put them up against any other out there.  Me being from Louisiana would like to have a bow built by a guy from Louisiana, so I am exited about it and was just wondering if anyone else had heard of him.  He said he will have it built before hunting season because he leaves and hunts Elk all winter and doesnt start building bows again until he gets home after hunting season.  So if I think about it I will post some pictures along with a performance report when I receive it.  He does not have a website but you can see a few pictures of his bows at "www.jbcustomcalls.com" and go down to the hand built bows link and it will show you a few pictures and give a little description.

Bowplinker, could you give me the number to the guy in Gonzales? I live fairly close to there and would like to talk to him about having one made.
