Glenn St Charles shoot
« on: July 25, 2013, 01:42:00 AM »
Is there going to be a Glenn St Charles shoot this year at the Tacoma Sportsman Club ? I do not see it on the TBW events or the TSC events calendar ... Thanks, Ken

It was held in spring this year. We are trying to find the right date to limit conflict with other major shoots. I will talk to the archery chairman and see if the next date has been set.

This shoot,  for a variety of reasons, has produced a low turnout. If it is to stick around we will have to get the numbers up. The archery committee at the Tacoma Sportsmans Club is working to make this a better shoot and advertise effectively.   If you want this to stick around please post some ideas/suggestions and come out if possible.   If nothing changes this will be a non-traditional shoot or disappear.  I would hate to see it go that way.

I would love to see this shoot become a New Year's Day Glenn St. Charles event.

Ever since McChord ended their New Year's trad event, many of us have been hoping another club would step in.  Those shoots always had great attendance, but gate security was enhanced at the base.  Also, fewer members at McChord were helping set up and run the event.

I went to that shoot when I was stationed at Fort Lewis.  Other than the plywood backstop here and there it was a good one.

I vote for the New Year's Day shoot also. My wife and I alway made it to the McCord shoot every year and that is our anniversary.

it's going to be around the time of the rock shoot. because TSC has so much going on, the committee chairpersons have to schedule events a year in advance. we are trying to get a better time slot but easier said then done,
didn't lay enough dirt down, saw it right off!
