Is there any public land for deer hunting near Columbus?  I am used to being out west with all tracks of land available.  I will be out there for ten days surrounding thanksgiving.

Check out Deer Creek State Park just south of Columbus. There is also the Delaware Wildlife area near Delaware, Ohio just north of Columbus. Tar Hollow State Park and Forest near Chillicothe is about an hour south of Columbus. Zeleski State Forest is a little east of Tar Hollow.

Thanks to all.  I am trying to make this a go since I will be out there for over a week.  Is hunting public land out there like sitting in a pumpkin patch?

My brother in law seems to be waffling on me as far as the hunting goes. Still working on him.  It is one of those deals where if I go alone I might catch heck from my Mrs. but if he goes with me I am still visiting with family.  Fingers crossed.
