Group deer hunt
« on: August 19, 2012, 01:33:00 AM »
Anybody interested in setting up a deer hunt for the upcoming season. Probably public ground as I only have about a 30 acre parcel of private ground to hunt. Let me know if your interested!
Its not the size of the animal you hunt that matters. Its how you hunt the animal.

I would surely be interested in it.  Vortex the drought has really changed the patterns of the deer on my ground.  Will be really focusing on water sources early part of the year.

I have heard of quite a few deer laying dead along the rivers and creeks I found one buck and one doe dead on my small piece of propertey due to the epizootic hemmoragic disease. Deer marine what do you think about the Halsey national forest or I know there is some public ground out by broken bow I will start doing some research on a place that may be decent. I believe the disease has not been found out west as of now.

I was thinking of trying for a 4-5 day hunt I was hoping to find somewhere the deer haven't been affected so much by EHD I do believe we have one other guy from Colorado interested also. I have found and heard of about 12 deer dead now from the disease in a 1 mile stretch along the elkhorn river.

I have hunted Halsey quite a bit over the years. There are a fair number of whitetail and mule deer in the park. The park is off limits for antlerless tag and if I remeber only Mule Bucks are leagal. 90,000 acres with 20,000 in hand planted pine trees.
