« on: July 02, 2013, 04:17:00 PM »

hi guys im new here. i found yall through  www.arkansashunting.net.  my dad has been building bows for about 10 years now. and hes got me into it now. this is my fisrt flat bow im currently building. dad seems to think it will be #55 @ 28". its made of black locust and will be sinew backed with a deer hide covering the sinew. we strung it yesterday and it pulled #50 @ 20". so im going to shave a little more off and get it where i want it. then back it. any advice would be great. i hope yall like.

If you have it bending, you'll want to go ahead and back it now rather than tiller it, then back it, then retiller it.  Check out the Primitive Archer site too.  Lots more wood bow building going on over there.
