Believe me I understand.  I haven't seen a deer in over 2 weeks now.  I am going to take a break for a few days and hit it again with a fresh outlook.  Good hunting

I understand the problem .I have hunted on our place all season and only seen two . Not close enough too even see what they were. I hope this little cold front will help. I am thinking about Wattensaw a lot here lately .I'm starting to get the fever.

I'm working on a red oak board bow too.  I finished one last week but it came out at about 30 pounds but it does shoot.  maybe this next one will be strong enough to take hunting.

The red oak board I started on was looking good until around lunchtime today.  I tried to do the initial stringing and POW!!!  Maybe it's a sign to go hunting instead.

I tried hickory one time and it was very forgiving.  That particular bow came out nicely at my target weight of 45#.  Even higher weights would not have been a problem like with the red oak boards.

I know the red oak boards will work cause I have shot sweeney's red oak bows.  All I can say is he must have the touch.

I really want to get one of the Lowe's red oak boards to work out for me just so I can say I did it.  Just have to keep trying.  hang in there and you will get it done too.
