WTA Annual Fall Hunt
« on: October 05, 2006, 08:23:00 AM »
Just a reminder that the annual WTA fall hunt dates are fast approaching.  The hunt this year will again be held in the Northern Highland State Forest near Boulder Junction.  Camp opens Tues. Oct. 10 and ends Sunday Oct. 15, and hunters can come for as many or as few days as they like.

The forest consists of 220,000 acres, so there is room for everyone.  This is a deer management unit, so the additional doe tags included with your license are valid here.  A State park sticker is required for your vehicle.

There will be a pot luck meal on Saturday afternoon about 1:00pm.  Even if you can't make it for the entire hunt, come up and enjoy the camp fellowship for the afternoon.

Directions:  Take Hwy 51 north of Minocqua/Woodruff to Hwy M.  Turn right (east), then continue one mile north of County Road N.  Turn right on Muskellunge Lake Road, proceed about 2 1/2 miles to the camp grounds on the south side of the road.  (Watch for signs)

For those that missed it on the PowWow forums I posted a short write up about this years hunt.  If you haven't tried this hunt before you really should put it on your calander for next year.  I think everyone there agreed it was a great time!
Here is the link to the Pow Wow story.
