Patapsco State park
« on: January 09, 2012, 01:17:00 PM »
Hello All,  I'm looking into coming down to MD again this upcoming 2012 season for a weekend DIY deer hunt using the stickbow.   I've bow hunted in Garret Cty before but I don't want to go to far out west this time and I was looking for a decent state park with public land where I can also camp there for the weekend, rented cabin or tent on the ground..

I found Patapsco state park based on its size and it has camping within the park and its bowhunting only but I'm not sure if its too close to Baltimore where it might not be a good choice,
bow only is not too important but if I don't know the area too wel it might be safer.

anyway I'm doing this by myself so I'm looking for any info or advice you local guys can maybe point me in the right direction.

Thanks Ted

Hi Ted. I trust all is well with you and your family. Ted I have never hunted Potapsco State Park before, but I have heard good things about the place. If you let me know when you plan to come down to hunt this year, I'll come and camp out and hunt with you. It would be the second time we shared a camp together, the first time being in South Carolina. Since I live here in Maryland and Potapsco is only about an hour or so from where I live, I could go and scout it out and see what its like, and have an idea of where to hunt there. Let me know what you think.
