Stump Shooting
« on: March 22, 2011, 03:33:00 PM »
Does anyone know if it's legal to go stump shooting on the WMA's when it's not hunting season and naturally with no broadheads in quiver just field points?

Checkout the small game seasons, that is when you can go on state land, I don't know about WMA'S.

If you go during small game season, make sure you have all the required equipment...orange hat/vest , license. game wardens in New Jersey are not dumb.

It is legal to hunt woodchucks most of the year. The season is 1/1/11 to 2/21/11 and then 3/1/11 to 9/28/11. Bowhunters don't need orange, but you do need to carry a few broadheads. Woodchucks are one of the animals listed that require broadheads. Spend most of the day stump shooting, nothing in the regs say you can't practice while hunting.
