Title: Lesson learned the hard way
Post by: Wind D Ranch on July 11, 2018, 10:41:07 PM
I think I learned my first major lesson while trying to teach myself how to knap.  Leverage is not a substitute for technique.  You sure can get some good leverage with an Ishi stick though!  Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex injury.  6 to 8 weeks of wearing a brace.  If that doesn't work, we may have to think about surgery.  Lesson learned.

Sure hope that heals up for ya, Can't imagine not knapping for that length of time, I tried a new type hand pad technique and stretched something in elbow but nothing like yours. Hoping ya heal quickly. Bob

Thanks for the well wishes, Bob.  I'm sure it will be fine in time.  Meanwhile, I will now have a little more time to work on arrows, stone pipe, hooch-making....etc.  Too many projects for one lifetime!
I hope your elbow heals quickly.
