It is with a very heavy heart that I let the OSTA family know that Scott Gensert passed away last evening.

Details for the memorial service will be posted as soon as I get them.

Scott Thomas Gensert, age 53, of Township Road 352, Brinkhaven, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 3, 1955 in Elyria, Ohio to Daniel and Lois Anne (Mashinske) Gensert. He was a 1973 graduate of Elyria High School and was a proud graduate of Massage Therapy School in Westerville, Ohio. Scott loved anything outdoors, such as hunting and archery. He was a life member of the Ohio Society of Traditional Archers and belonged to the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

He is survived by his mother, his loving wife of 31 years, Karen (Wise) Gensert, a son, Benjamin (Kathryn Agar) Gensert of Warsaw, two brothers, Joe (Judy) Gensert of Elyria, Hoot (Kathie) Gibson of St. Louisville, two sisters, Anne (Mark) Radosevich and Peggy (Chuck) Aliff both of Grafton, father and mother-in-law, Paul and Jan Wise of Florida, sister-in-law, Sandi (Denny) Davis of Mansfield, brother-in-law, Bill (Mary Lu) Wise of North Ridgeville, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 3 PM during the OSTA Shootout being held at the East Holmes Conservation Club, 6781 Township Road 310, Millersburg, Ohio 44654 (rain or shine)  www.tradarchers.org. (http://www.tradarchers.org.)  The Family will also observe a memorial service at the Reichlin-Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035 at a date and time to be determined. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Scott Thomas Gensert.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Coshocton County or to the Kids Bow Program through The Ohio Society of Traditional Archers.

My deepest sympathies and prayers for his family and friends.Scott will be missed but not forgotten.

im going out tomarrow night and put up his tree stand on the ridge above death valley. that was his favorite place to hunt here in the briar patch . hoot
