Aloha Gang,
Thanks to Terry and Rob, we now have a "Hawaiian Connection" Forum.
I'd like to use this forum to share my Hawaiian bowhunting adventures as well as hearing about yours. In addition, I'd like to provide a resource for those who'd like to visit.
As a resource, I'll be creating a post for each of the islands and hopefully anyone with insightful information will reply with their experiences. Together, we'll compile a list private and public land hunting areas, recommended guides, places to stay, things to do, etc.
I also want to create a traditional harvest post for our islands. For the harvest pics, please also indicate the island.
I have a few other ideas, but these are the ones that I'd like to get started.
Mahalo!

Aloha Buddy, tickled you got this together Ryan!
HI is one of my favorite places in the world guys and the Island hospitality is one of the main reasons. Ryan and his lovely bride Staci are some of the finest examples. Really looking forward to following this forum.

Hey Jerry!
I could use some of "island insight". ;) Have you been hunting recently?
-
Aloha Ryan,
You're doing a great job. It makes me miss Hawaii. Islandlongbow(Jerry), how are you doing. Have not talked to you in ages.
Mahalo,
George

Mahalo George,
If I'm not mistaken, I shot with you at least once at the Kapolei Range. I know I've talked to you before, it was awhile ago though, when I first got into trad.
Nice to be in contact here on Trad Grad, please feel free to chime in about Hawaii!
Aloha!

LOL! Many of us locals live off of that stuff! :D

This is exciting!
I live on Maui, would love to meet anybody on Maui who wants to get together to shoot! I don't have my hunting license right now, but will eventually. Send me a private message if you live on Maui and want to shoot together.

What a great idea!! I visited the islands a couple of years ago and plan on going back. I didn't hunt at that time, but ran into a lady with pigs on her place, and an interesting guy who sold Koa wood bows. My new tall tines bow is made of Koa, great looking wood. I'll be contacting you when we go back, this time I plan on hunting. Thanks again
-
Aloha Ryan,
I'll be heading to Hawaii this October and since I viewed your forum, you got me thinking about a possible bowhunt...It sure is something to think about.
-
Sounds good Chimaster!
The Ole' Bowhunter, definitely look into it. A lot will depend on which island you decide to visit.
-
The stew looks great; how would you describe the taste of goat as I have never tried it.
-
Goat is best described as ONO!
-
Producer,
The closest thing I could describe it to would be feral sheep.

Hi Ryan: I'll be leaving the snow & ice in February to trad hunt goats in Maui. Should I be fortunate to get one, is there a taxidermist on Maui I could take it to? Cheers!
