John Gesner's mother passed away

Elizabeth R. Gesner, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, December 21, 2007 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. A veteran of WWII having served with the US Navy as a Registered Nurse. She is preceded in death by her loving husband J. Holland Gesner; son John Holland Gesner, Jr.; parents Vincent and Elizabeth Elwell. Mrs. Gesner was a devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her children Betsy (Greg) Sopko and John (Sherry) Gesner; grandchildren Mary Elizabeth and Matthew Gesner; sisters Mary Howrie and Dorothy Weiserth; numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna. Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4383 E. Broad Street, Whitehall. Father Raymond Larussa, Celebrant. Private family interment, Glen Rest Memorial Estates, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. I'm very sorry to hear that John has lost his mother.  She sounds like she was one heck of a woman, I wish I would have had a chance to meet her.  What she must have seen as a RN in WWII!  John is a good guy and has been a big part of OSTA, and we wish him and the family the best.
